Partly cloudy skies currently here in Eau Claire. The clouds are not thin but not super thick either, with a fluffy appearance (learning about clouds soon...bear with me). The conditions don't look that bad right now but soon all will change.

Yesterdays forecast was pretty good thus far, will have to see if the precipitation makes its way as forecasted.

We are currently on the edge of a cold front with a low pressure area off to our West. The South/Southwest winds along with the jetstreams Northwest winds will be pushing the low pressure into Wisconsin by later this afternoon/evening. There is already some precipitation associated with the storm. So far it is a mixture of rain and snow. Will have to see when it arrives for the form.

Chilly start to Thursday compared to the nice weather yesterday. The winds switched as predicted and the temps went down. The cold front has pushed through and we are not in an area of high pressure. Fair amount of rain in the Southeastern United States but clear conditions here for now.

My forecast from yesterday was pretty good. The breeze kept the temps down a little lower than expected but was still a great day.

Tomorrow forecast is looking at a chance for a little precipitation to appear. The jetstream will be pushing up a contortied system which will bring the chance for some rain changing into snow as the day goes along. Little to early to say for certain but be on the look out for some moisture falling from the sky tomorrow.

Wonderful day here in Eau Claire! A nice south wind is bringing in warm temperatures. High moisture in the atmosphere from yesterday left a nice frost on the ground this morning but quickly vanished with the appearance of the sun.

So far my forecast from yesterday is looking really good.

Tomorrows forecast the temperatures should be in the low 40's. The temperature drop is correlated with a shift in the wind to out of the Northwest. The skies should be mostly clear.

Dreary day here in Eau Claire. Cloud cover has remained constant since the misty rain left last night/early this morning. We have a good possibility of seeing a little sun later on this afternoon if the clouds move along fast enough.

My forecast from yesterday was poor. I had a lack of understanding of the formation of the storm.

Tomorrows forecast is looking to abnormally nice! Temperatures are looking like they will get into the 50's by the late afternoon. The cold front has push through our area and we will be inside of a large high pressure area by tomorrow. Winds should be out of the West bringing with it some nice warm air. However, by tomorrow night we should be seeing another cold front pushing down from Canada.

Gloomy, cool day here in Eau Claire. The persistent East winds have kept the temperatures a little below enjoyable the last few days. Aside from the breeze there has been little to talk about with the weather in our region.

My previous forecast was fair. The temps did not get as high as I predicted due to the winds.

The forecast for tonight and into tomorrow has a high chance of precipitation. The jet stream is going to be pushing precipitation currently located to the East of Wisconsin into the area later this afternoon and will continue throughout the evening. The precipitation should be in the form of drizzle or very light rain. I am unsure of how the precipitation is forming but hopefully will get some incite tomorrow during class.

Not the best of days and not the worst of days here in Fall Creek, WI. The temperature doesn't look to bad until the wind chill factor kicks in. The overcast skies are preventing the sun from do much heating. We are still stuck between a high and low pressure system. The low pressure system is starting to push its way into the region.

My forecast from the other day was pretty good. Clear skies and stable temps were the norm.

The approaching low pressure system has a large line of precipitation associated with it. There is some form of lifting mechanism occuring but I am unsure which variety...sort of wish we were in class this week to get a better knowledge of the approaching storm. So, far doesn't look like Wisconsin will see much for precipitation until Sunday or early next week. Stay tuned...

Gorgeous afternoon here in Fall Creek, WI. Not a cloud in the sky and the sun has warmed us up to almost 40 degrees this afternoon. The morning did not start out that way, as it was a little crisp out there. There was good evidence out my window of another thermal inversion as evidence from my neighbors wood stove smoke (Figure 1). We are currently in the middle of a huge High Pressure dome which has brought us the clear conditions.

(Figure 1) Evidence of a thermal inversion with the wood smoke sinking instead of rising.

There is a large Nor'easter which just hit the East Coast and the Southwest was experiencing sever thunderstorms. If you haven't seen any of this checkout Accuweather.com for some updates.

My last forecast (sorry it is spring break and I have been way to busy) was fair, no precipitation made it to the region.

Tomorrows forecast looks to be a repeat of today. Temperature should reach almost to the mid-40's with mostly clear skies.

Chilly start to the work week in comparison to the weekend. Currently the clouds are overcast with light thin pillow like clouds high in the sky. This past weekend was gorgeous with temps hitting near 50 across the region. There is a low pressure off to the South of Wisconsin and a area of High pressure in Canada which is bring the colder air of the Continental Polar down into Wisconsin.

My last forecast was pretty good. Temps were high and the winds did switch to out of the south for a short time.

Tomorrows forecast is looking to be a lot like today. There is an approaching warm front from the west which has a chance to bring with it some precipitation. Forecast models are predicting is stopping a little short of the Eau Claire area but could see some trace amounts of snow in the end.

Thin wispy clouds are scatter throughout the sky but overall the sun is shinning brightly in Eau Claire. The winds have switched to out of the SE.

My forecast from yesterday was pretty good. Not looking like it is going to get as warm as I predicted but close.

We are in the midst of a High pressure dome with a low pressure cell off to the Southwest which has caused the switch in wind direction. The low pressure system will shift to the east, allowing the high pressure system to move to the south which will eventually bring the winds from the south and increase the temperatures to near 50 over the weekend.

Its like deja vu here in Eau Claire with the only change being the wind direction. Conditions are almost identical to yesterday. Clear skies with a slight breeze.

My forecast from yesterday is solid at this point. The winds switched as expected and the temps are in the 30's.

Tomorrows forecast looks to be very similar today with temperatures rising to around 40 degrees. The winds will be switching to out of the East tomorrow as the high pressure area over Canada shifts to the Southeast.

Another nice day in early March here in Eau Claire. Skies are clear letting the sunshine through and will hopefully be bringing us to near 40 degrees today.

My forecast from yesterday was good. As you can see the winds have switched to out of the West as I predicted.

The forecast for the tomorrow looks to be very similar as today. The High Pressure system has slid to the south as low pressure starts to move in from the West. We should see a switch in wind again. The wind will start coming out of the North/Northwest which will be bringing some unwanted colder air to the region. There is a high pressure system over the middle of Canada which will be contributing to this shift in wind.

Good day everyone! Another clear yet sunshiny day here in Eau Claire. We are still situated in a high pressure dome leading to coolish temperatures but clear skies.

My forecast from yesterday was pretty spot on.

Tomorrows forecast: We should see a rise in temperatures as the winds switch from out of the north to a West/Southwest wind as the high pressure moves along.

The East Coast is getting pounded by another winter storm bring a lot of precipitation in off the coast. A giant low pressure cell  has a cyclone formed on the East Coast of Massachusetts and Maine.

Happy Monday everyone! Sorry for the lack of updates over the weekend. It was a fairly uneventful weekend anyway.

Cooler temperatures in the area in the past couple days due to a good Northwest wind bringing down the continental polar air with it. The jet-stream has dipped way to the south almost over Mexico right now leaving most of the country cool.

The forecast I made for the weekend was fair but the unexpected cold weather wasn't in my plans.

We should continue to see more of the same weather in to tomorrow. We are situated on the edge of a large area of high pressure. This high pressure will be moving into the area keeping the temps down in the low to mid 30's.

Another clear and sunshiny day here in Eau Claire. I just glanced outside and there was not a cloud in the sky from what I could see.

So far my forecast from yesterday was pretty solid. Have to see where the temps reach today to know for sure.

We are still in the middle of a high pressure area but low pressure system is trying to push in from the Southwest. Right now on the edge of the front is a little precipitation but is going to be driven more North than East with winds from the Gulf blowing up, which should leave us in the clear over the weekend. The Gulf air should bring us warmer temperatures over the weekend approaching near 40 deg.

Greetings from back in Wisconsin. Sorry for no posts the last couple days but Blogger seemed to be having an issue as I could not log in for some reason.

The crisp temperatures here in WI were a shock to my system after returning from Arizona. We are currently on the East edge of a high pressure dome which will keep the sun shinning but the temperatures cool over the next few days.

My forecast for tomorrow is for similar conditions as today. Highs approaching 30 and mostly clear conditions.

Greetings again from sunny and 70 deg. Phoenix. The weather back in Eau Claire has not been as hospitable. Snow and the increased winds have moved into the area. The low pressure area continues to move across the region bringing the snow and rain. The steep pressure gradient off to the north is keeping the winds a whistling.

My forecast from yesterday was pretty good. Waiting to see if the system tracks off to the SE like predicted or not.

The forecast for tomorrow looks to be more of the same from today with the system moving out later in the day with partly cloudy skies during the night. Mean while I will be enjoying my boring and sunny weather in Arizona for another day.

Greetings from Phoenix, AZ. I am here for a conference for the next couple days. I am lucky to be escaping the nasty weather which will be moving in to Wisconsin over the next few days. Saturday was a great day with mostly clear skies and bright sunshine. When I took off from the Eau Claire airport early this morning the wind had picked up and the skies were filled with clouds. The ride from Chicago to Phoenix was bumpier than the average flight. I assume this was associated not only with the mountains we flew over but the variations in pressure throughout the atmosphere.

My forecast for this weekend was fair. Not much in the form of precipitation fell today from the reports I got from back home.

A large area of low pressure is moving in to the Great Lakes Region bringing with it a vast mix of precipitation. The experts believe the system will move northeast before swinging to the south east following the trough in the pressure. Expect a mix of precipitation over the next couple days with strong winds related to the pressure gradient.

Mean while I will be enjoying mid to high 70 degree temperatures here in Arizona...

Another uneventful day here in Eau Claire. The temperatures are not quite as warm as the last few days but still a beautiful day to be outside. The cooler temps are related to the high pressure dome we are in right now bringing down the colder air from the upper atmosphere.

My forecast from yesterday was fair but the temps are not as warm as I exspected.

The weekend forecast doesn't look to bad but here is a slight chance for some mixed precipitation later Saturday evening. The high pressure is going to slide to the Southeast bringing some precipitation from the Northwest. Depending on how far it pulls into the area will determine the precipitation.

Another beautiful day at UWEC. Some clouds and haze this morning gave way to clear sunshiny skies. A trace of snow fell over night...nothing measurable but just enough to slick up the sidewalks and back roads for the morning commute.

Clear skies and sunshine outside of Phillips Hall on the UWEC Campus.

My forecast from yesterday was a bit off. We did not get as much precipitation as I was expecting. Additionally, I didn't predict it would be this nice temperature wise today.

Tomorrows forecast should be calm and clear as the area of high pressure moves in from the west. Temperatures should be very close to 40 for a high and mostly clear skies.
