The last an final weather blog post for the semester. Gloomy and dreary day here in Eau Claire, WI. We are situated in an area of low pressure which brought some rain to the region later last night. Mixtures of cold and warm fronts is providing the lifting for the moisture. The majority of the precipitation has moved off to the eastern portion of the state. Depending on the movement of the fronts additional moisture could appear later again today.

Tomorrow looks to be a much better day as an area of high pressure works its way into our region. Temperatures will be in the mid-60's with mostly clear skies.

Till another day...thanks for reading!

Great weekend and start to the week here in Eau Claire. Clear skies are letting the temperature climb again today. Saturday was in the 80's and the heat allowed a few showers to form across the area early in the evening. Sunday was a bit cooler as the cold front pushed through with a stiff breeze early in the morning.

Lenticular clouds formed ahead of the rain on Saturday afternoon.

My forecast from Friday was pretty good. Weather patterns held true to form.

We are currently in the middle of a large high pressure area which is bringing us the clear conditions. We should remain in the area throughout Monday and part of  Tuesday. Temperatures should hit near 80 again on Tuesday. A warm front which is currently near the Rockies will be pushing our way and could lead to some precipitation on Wednesday but will have to watch the formation to be sure.

Great day with crystal clear skies here in Eau Claire. The temperatures are on their way to the mid-70's today. That could all change by later this afternoon into the evening.

My forecast from yesterday was spot on so far.

This afternoon we will see the stationary front which is off to our south shift to the North. The warm low pressure is pushing the cold high pressure up and creating a chance for precipitation. The moisture for the rain is being fed by the moisture being pulled up from the Gulf of Mexico. Have to see what the evening brings. The rain should be diminishing by morning leading to a decent day on Friday with temperatures nearing 80.

Early morning gloom has given way to a little sunshine here in Eau Claire. Approximately .2 of an inch of rain fell through the night time hours. The cold front has moved through the area with little development of rain or storms. A lack of vertical development prevented any storms from forming.

Cold front approaching from the West on Tuesday evening as the sun was setting.

My forecast was a little off with the lack of rain which fell over night and is not currently falling today.

The rest of the afternoon and tomorrow are looking nicer than they were earlier in the week. Looks to me partly to mostly cloudy and temps reaching near 70 during the day. Later on Thursday we could see another chance at some rain as another cold front is approaching from the northwest but still as ways off to know for sure.

Uneventful start to the day so far, but that could change by late afternoon. A cold front is colliding with a warm air mass known as the Bermuda High. This collision could produce a line of somewhat strong thunderstorms by tonight and into tomorrow. The warm, moist air from the Gulf will be feeding this storm the necessary moisture it needs, which will provide us with much needed precipitation.

Clouds starting to form just ahead of the cold front as it collides with the warm air. Altocumulus clouds primarily on the front edge.

My forecast from yesterday thus far is still spot on.

Another great day to be alive here in Eau Claire, WI! The weekend was a perfect day to be outside and exploring the landscape. In my case I was chasing turkeys around the woods and taking in the sights and sounds mother nature had to offer. This meant a lack on internet connection which kept me from posting. The skies were clear and the temperatures though chilly at 4:30 am rose to the 60's in the afternoon. The winds increased on Sunday afternoon which made the temps a little less enjoyable for those in shorts and t-shirts.

My last forecast was good and no real discrepancies.

The forecast for the next few days is not looking as good as today's weather. Today we are looking to hit temps near 80. Then later tonight as an area of low pressure moves in and convergence of a cold and warm front we will see a chance for some showers which will turn to thunderstorms later during the day on Tuesday. We will have to see how things line up to know if there is a chance for severe storms or not. As of right now it isn't very likely to see severe storms from the system.

Current Conditions at Chippewa Valley Regional, WI
Temp: 54
Feels Like: 50
Wind: S @ 14 mph
Relative Humidity: 38%
Cloud cover: Partly Cloudy
Precipitation: None
Pressure: 1006.0 mb (Converted from 29.70 in)

Little on the gloomy side here in Eau Claire today. The morning started out with some lower level Stratus morphing into Stratocumulus clouds which spit a very brief sprinkle of rain out but there really wasn't enough upward growth or height to the clouds to bring any measurable amounts of precipitation with them. Though the wind is out of the south the breeze is chilly due to the low relative humidity and the cold front pushing in.

Status clouds near Fall Creek, WI this morning which produced a few minor sprinkles.

My forecast from the other day was pretty solid.

The forecast for this afternoon and tomorrow is looking like a wide variety. A cold front is pushing through and cutting of the remainder of the warm front which was coming up from the southwest. Combine this with the area of low pressure we are not in there is a chance for some scattered showers. Not major is going to come from the storm as the warm front is almost no longer anymore due to being cut off. The weekend looks like it will be nice with clear skies and temperatures hitting near 70 on Sunday.
